We’re excited to kick off 2021 with the announcement that Plus is coming to the Pilbara! And, what’s more? We want to hear from you on how best we can support you throughout the program.
This iteration of the program will be run in the same manner as we’ve done in the past across Perth and Brisbane, on a part-time basis, outside of business hours, making it perfect for full-time workers or women returning to the workforce. Throughout the program, participants will undertake unique projects focussed on building an enterprise web application using HTML/CSS, Python, Django and React JS, and of course, no prior experience is necessary!
Thanks to the support of Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Pilbara Development Commission, BHP, WEB Business Hub, and Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this program will be completely free for participants, as we work with local government and industry partners to champion women through the Pilbara community.
So, what exactly will the program entail?
The course is structured around four projects which you will complete across the six month period. We focus around six technologies which will prepare you for careers with our industry partners. Being part time, there will be 7 contact hours per week, with blended learning options throughout. You can see more about our Plus program here.
Wondering if the program is right for you?
Well, if you are new to tech, work in a non-technical role at a tech company, or just looking to learn new skills, Plus is the place for you. We actively encourage diversity, including but not limited to women wanting roles in tech, mothers coming back into the workforce, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, women looking for complimentary skills, recent high school graduates and, of course, you!
How can I find out more?
Before we open up our applications, we want to ensure the program is tailored to suit you. We want to know what days are most suitable, if a blended learning solution is ideal for you, how we can support your tech journey and more.
So, if you’re interested in learning technical skills or upskilling their current tech knowledge, we want to hear from you! Simply click here to access the form, and let us know your interests and requirements before we launch the program in the Pilbara.
This program wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Pilbara Development Commission, BHP, WEB Business Hub, and Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
