Welcome to the She Codes WordPress tutorial. This is constantly being updated with cool new stuff based on your feedback, so let us know how you find it!
Today you have 2 options that you can choose between:
1. Create a website on the internet
2. Set up a local site on your computer
If you want to build yourself a shiny new website, option 1 is for you. There are both free and paid options, depending on whether you want to keep it long term. We'll walk you through all the steps that you need to get up and running! This option is much easier if you want to eventually publish a website live on the internet for people to see.
If you already have a website and you want to learn how to code inside WordPress or want somewhere you can play around that is free forever, choose option 2. It is a little more time consuming but at the end, you'll have a local environment that you can play in that won't cost you anything and will allow you to work offline if you want to. Most developers use a local environment for development and testing - it's super handy!
You can do both options if you want to! We'd suggest starting with Option 1 and then setting up your local environment after registering all the bits and pieces first (you will have some waiting to do anyway!)
