Our aim is to inspire women and create a sustainable ecosystem of developers and women in tech! We have a range of time commitments, as well as paid and volunteer mentor roles.

Levels of mentors

Workshop Mentor

The Workshop Mentor is where it all starts! We need mentors for our one day workshops, generally held over the weekend a few times per year. These are volunteer positions - but you do get a She Codes shirt, lunch and a cupcake. Come along by registering on Humanitix.

Junior Mentor

The Junior Mentor will work with the support of the mentoring team to help participants with their projects. This is for someone who is new to the industry and may have not mentored previously (at work, or with She Codes).

Industry Mentor

The Industry Mentor will not only support students but also provide industry expertise such as sharing stories about the real world of coding, and insight into their industry and organisation.

Lead Mentor

The Lead Mentor is the main point of contact for participants and other mentors at She Codes. You will lead and deliver classes for a module. Teaching experience, or experience mentoring previously is preferred.

Mentor Give Back Program

Keen to support the next wave of women in technology? The She Codes Mentor Give-Back Program allows our mentoring team to pay-it-forward by donating their fee back to fund future She Codes programs.

In this program, mentors have the opportunity to donate their fee to a Scholarship fund. Every time that the fund reaches one of the thresholds, another woman gets a chance to upskill into a tech job!
