We are so excited to announce our upcoming Perth Plus Cohort, kicking off in November 2021 and running for six months into the middle of 2022. With the pandemic creating an increased demand for STEM workers, the need for technical skills is higher than ever. According to The Australian, 1 million tech jobs are needed by 2025 for us to stay globally competitive, and while the team at She Codes is helping us reach that number, we’re also focussing on diversity in the industry for First Nations Women, women of colour, women who are neurodivergent / or live with disabilities, and the unemployed/underemployed.
Working alongside our partners at Bunnings Warehouse, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Office for Women, Spacecubed and Cash Converters, we’re aiming to teach future skills, build confidence and improve career pathway opportunities throughout Australia.
This iteration of Plus also showcases the first round of our Emergence scholarships, as well as our Industry and Community Scholarships. The focus for our Emergence scholarships are to contribute to closing the gap on socioeconomic disadvantage, and champion individuals who may have been unexposed to similar opportunities in the past.
So, let’s not wait any longer. Introducing our Perth Plus cohort of 21/22:
