Last year we were joined by the team at Insight Australia who partnered with us to deliver four one day workshops around Australia. This partnership joins together two shared missions, as we work together to increase the number of women entering technical careers across the country, spark inspiration and curiosity in the STEM sector, and meet the growing need for building future skills.
To celebrate the start of 2024, we sat down with Insight to reflect on the year that was, and dive into what this partnership has meant for them.
“We’ve loved working with Insight Australia to deliver these workshops Australia-wide,” Founder, Kate Kirwin shared. “It’s been a great opportunity to broaden our reach, and meet the growing demand of women interested in the tech industry, not just in Perth, but doubling down on the opportunities for our audiences in Sydney, Brisbane, and for the first time, Melbourne.”
What does the She Codes partnership mean to Insight? “Our partnership with She Codes is to further our mission of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the technology industry. We are committed to celebrating the unique perspectives, experiences, and skills that women bring and promoting their growth in the technology industry,” shared Elyse Philippi, People & Culture for Insight, APAC. “This partnership is also an important step towards attracting more women to the field of technology and digital businesses where they are able to thrive in interesting, diverse, and flexible careers.” she continued.
In addition to partnering with She Codes, Insight has been hard at work on a range of different initiatives such as leadership programs, sponsoring 40+ Insight women in the Microsoft Women Rising Program, and partnering with Dress for Success, a charity supporting the return of women to the workforce. And of course, they are also advocates for diversity, inclusion, and equity with Women in Technology WA (WiTWA) who are firm friends of She Codes! All of this advocacy work has resulted in Insight doubling the number of women joining them in technical roles. However, they aren’t stopping there, they are committed to working on further increasing this ratio.
To end our interview Elyse shared, “We put people first. We do not just support each other, we also give back to our local communities and our industry, with the Hunger to be better, Heart to take care of each other and the Harmony of valuing our differences.”
