Following our recent expansion from Perth Web Girls to She Codes, we’re delighted to be growing not only our offering but our location!
Heading to Brisbane’s River City Labs on November 2, the She Codes team will be hosting our free, one day workshop for women living on the East Coast. Open to women of all ages and experiences, this workshop’s aim is to demystify tech by inspiring women to give coding a go, and get all participants a fully functional website or a game running in just a day!
With the continuous support of our sponsors BHP and Spacecubed, we’ve been able to connect, inspire and teach over 2,500 women in the last four years, and we’re not stopping here. By bringing the She Codes experience to Brisbane, it’s our mission to spark collaboration, creativity, and expand networks for more women across Australia.
But, we can’t complete our mission alone. We work with some of the best local developers, who are as passionate as we are about tech and diversity. Without the support of our volunteers and mentors, we wouldn’t be able to reach women all across the country.
She Codes mentor, and long-time supporter, Jo Minney shares with us how she’s been a part of this movement since the beginning. “I’ve been a mentor, supporter, and lover of what Kate and the She Codes team do for as long as I can remember! Being involved with She Codes has been the single most rewarding thing I’ve done in the last five years and I’m super excited to have the opportunity to be able to help deliver the first-ever workshop on the East Coast.”

In addition to expanding to the East Coast, She Codes are also running their 2nd Workshop at Maker + Co in Bunbury this month, supporting women across the regions to upskill and grow their tech careers.
