To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’re hosting a free coding challenge for women across the world to take part in, as we continue to work towards our mission of getting more women into technical careers.
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Being celebrated for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people, now IWD marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality and belongs to all groups collectively, everywhere.
With the champion theme of 2021 #ChooseToChallenge, this year is focussed on how we can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
So, the She Codes team are combining forces with Robert Walters to celebrate throughout the month of March by asking women to #ChooseToChallenge themselves. Willing participants will be able to try a new skill by following a tech-taster tutorial, designed by some of our incredible mentors, as they learn how to code a minigame in just 60 minutes (with cupcakes!).
Whether you’re considering a career in tech or just curious about coding, this challenge is designed to give you a coding experience that’s fun, free and accessible. For bonus points, customise your code and share it on LinkedIn with #IWDCodingChallenge for a chance to win a tech prize bundle.
