The first step to falling in love with tech

Whether you’re interested in coding as a career, or just looking to see what it’s all about, our free one day workshops are the perfect starting point.

We offer beginner level HTML & CSS, and Django & Python workshops, in a self-paced environment, mentored by industry professionals. PLUS we offer lunch, cupcakes and a quick dance break in the afternoon. No experience is necessary – just a laptop, a sense of adventure and a willingness to learn.

What do we teach?

What is WordPress?

Are you creating a website for a business or wanting to set up a blog? WordPress is the simplest, most popular way to create this. WordPress uses a web templating system so you can create and publish pages simply. All that’s required is a domain and a hosting service. (Which we provide, thanks to VentraIP, on workshop days!)

What is Front-End?

The front-end of a website is the part that you interact with. Everything that you see when you're navigating around the Internet, from fonts and colours to dropdown menus and sliders, is a combo of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript being controlled by your computer's browser. We offer a tutorial on HTML/CSS.

What is Back-End?

Back-end development is the skill that powers the web. Backend development languages (a few- Python, PHP, SQL) handle the 'behind-the-scenes' functionality of web applications. It's code that connects the web to a database, manages user connections, and powers the web application itself. We offer tutorials in Python and Django. Django is a ‘Framework’ of Python.
